The Homework Trap: How to Save the Sanity of Parents, Students and Teachers

My approach

Psychologist Kenneth Goldberg, PhD, treats and evaluates disabled adults, provides psychotherapy for school avoidance and homework avoidant children and their families, consults on child protection cases.

To those dealing with physical, emotional and mental health difficulties,

Through my years of work in mental health and behavioral health, I’ve encountered people in different contexts, struggling with a wide range of issues, which include:

  • the average person dealing with a temporary personal problem
  • the highly impaired individual tormented by psychosis
  • the abused child and the abusive parent
  • the disabled worker unable to work because of a physical or mental limitation; and,
  • the floundering child, overwhelmed by schoolwork, unable to complete homework.

In each case, I have been awed by our commonalities more than our differences, and this has led me to a clinical philosophy and psychotherapeutic treatment approach deeply defined by my undying respect for the inherent worth and dignity of each person.
